Down on the farm...

Hi everyone

I’ve had loads of fun this week, especially getting up to a few naughty tricks like getting through the gate over to the other side of the house and eating some of my bro’s food (he wasn’t too happy about that).

Now I can roam around where ever I like but I’m planning on staying at my new home cause the foods awesome! Last week I tried ham on the bone, then lasagne and some apple pie – it’s a dog’s life.
One of you very kind folk gave me the pink teddy in the picture which is one of my favourite toys, as you can see I’ve playing with it quite a bit! I guess he can’t take the rough and tumble as much as I can.

my teddy and me...

My planned trip to the beach was cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather, but hopefully I will soon get there.
I haven’t seen any baby rabbits around lately – maybe words got out. I’ve started digging a few holes next to the fences, but I think my dad will have something to say about that if I keep it up. I only want to meet the sheep on the other side.
My skin is loads better thanks to all the cream I have been given, and my weight is doing just fine – a lady can’t give the exact figures, but I’m looking good for my age. I just wish my sugar-daddy Hyper would pay me more attention...

me and Hyper...

Ok, enuff for now!
See ya!!

Life's a beach...

Hi Everyone!
It's me again, just thought I'd do a quick catch up before the weekend as I will be going away with my new family.
I'm so excited because they are all taking me to a place called "a beach". I have never been to a beach before & never ever had a holiday so I just can't keep still thinking about it. I heard my foster parents talking about it the other night (not that I was eavesdropping but just showing an interest) & they were saying that there is lots of water & room to run & even better lots of birds to chase. Apparently I am allowed to chase birds but not sheep or rabbits so I can't wait. You just watch out birds 'cause Eve is in top chasing condition!
I have sent Uncle Derek who is the website whiz at the SPCA a photo of the new kennel the one I was telling you about with me posing in it, of course. Isn't is posh? I just love it because I can get out of the sun or the rain but still keep an eye on the action.

me and my kewl kennel...

I also forgot to tell you that I met some cows the other day, they were just a little scary so I thought if I kept barking loudly at them they would go away. They just stood on the other side of MY fence & looked at me gormlessly; I really do not know where these weird animals come from but they did have big brown eyes with really long eyelashes which were really quite appealing. I asked where they got their eyelashes because I thought they would rather suit me but they wouldn't tell me & eventually my foster mum told me I had to stop barking. Geez, I was only asking about their eyelashes!!
I went to my training class on Monday night & everyone said I was so much better behaved as I just sat there & watched all the other dogs being trained & then it was my turn. I listened really hard & walked along beside my foster mum on a loose lead & sat whenever I was told. I didn't get too excited & I didn't jump all over the other dogs & I didn't growl anymore because I don't need to be scared of other dogs when I'm with my foster mum. I've learnt that my foster mum is the leader & I just tag along & everything works out just fine.
Anyway this was supposed to be a quick update but I have so much to talk about but I have to go because I have to pack. I'm taking my pink stuffed toy & my chewy toy & my tennis ball & my other special toys & I will ask my foster dad if we can take my kennel & my blue plastic bed & my favourite blanket & of course my big container of food because I'm bound to get extra hungry chasing all those birds & a special beach towel to dry me with... OOhh I'm so excited I can't wait.
I will get the oldies to take lots of pics & send them through next week.
Catch up soon,
See Ya!

Me and my bro'

I almost forgot to mention about my brother here... he's not a bad sort (for a boy) and we get on pretty good. He's good fun to have a rough and tumble, although it's usually me getting tumbled...

See ya!

The Undiscovered Country...

Hi everyone... I am so sorry I've been out of touch for a wee while, I've been having so much fun in my new foster home I simply haven't had time to write & the oldies are always hogging the computer.

Anyway, where do I begin? I am absolutely loving it here. I have my very own room which has a very fancy long name called a "conservatory". It has loads of windows so I get a great view from my bed & is lovely & warm at night time. I have two beds to choose from, one is a very fancy blue plastic bed with blankets & that's where I sleep most of the time and keep all of my toys. My other bed is a lovely big dog crate where I can go if things get too busy with lots of visitors or where I can just have time out when I'm tired.

There is lots of room at my new home and big paddocks with very interesting white woolly creatures which I believe are called "sheep?" Anyway I couldn't believe my luck when I first saw the "Sheep" because I thought it would be great to get some exercise by playing chase. Oh no!! How wrong can a girl be? My new Mum & Dad have made it very clear that these silly sheep are on the 'Do Not Touch' list so I had better play along for the moment just to keep the peace.

I have a huge back yard with a BBQ area and a brand new wooden kennel so I can sleep in there but still keep an eye on things when I get sick of helping with the garden. My foster mum is home all day so I have lots of company and she has been taking me out in the car which I love. It has a big area in the back where I have a blanket and I can lie down or stand up or sit and look out the window.

I just can't believe how much there is to see and do especially as I spent so much time under that house, I almost forgot how it feels to be free. I spend a lot of time outside with my new mum helping with the garden, I dig & she plants but I never manage to quite dig in the right place.

You would all be so proud of me because the other day I caught a wild rabbit that was nibbling at my mum's new plants. Needless to say I left it sitting on the mat by the door as I was very proud of my conquest. Funnily, the family didn't seem to thrilled about my little deposit but I thought I was quite clever.

I'm learning to bark at strangers but also to be nice to people when my family tell me these people are 'ok'. I am also doing special training every day to teach me good dog manners and I now walk to heel and sit when I'm told. I'm still learning to lie down and stay still which I find really hard because I just want to play.

Last week I visited a dog training group and saw lots of other dogs doing really smart things. I haven't met many other dogs and I need to learn how to behave around them so I'm going once a week to see my new friends and learn more on how to be obedient and sociable and I get to ride in the car!

I went back to see Doug the vet a couple of weeks ago and all of my new friends at the SPCA -Todd, the cool Inspector who saved me, and the animal attendants who looked after me. It was so exciting to see everyone and they all made such a fuss. I got so excited I completely forgot my manners and my foster mum had to remind me about not pulling on the lead and sitting when I'm told.

Doug said my skin was good pretty good but I do have some new pills to keep the itch away and they are working really well.

Well, I really must be off because I can hear the fridge door opening so that means dinner time. I get two meals a day of only the best quality food and everyone tells me how well I look. I never want to be thin again and I know I will never have to worry thanks to the SPCA and all you wonderful people who have helped me over the last few months.

I'll be in touch soon so don't forget about me...

See ya!!

My new foster family

Well, it's been a while since I updated you all. Sorry about that but life's been full on for a while now, with moving house and training up my new people.

As I said in my last post, I've now moved in with my foster family and it's been great. We're getting on really well and I'm having great fun racing around the property with my new canine friend, too.

We had a visitor the other day and boy, did I let everyone know he was coming! Then my foster family came out to see what all the fuss was and it turned out to be someone they knew, so then they introduced us and I made yet another friend. But a girl can't be too careful, so I keep an eye out all around the place and I'll let everyone know if there are visitors coming. My foster family think that's a pretty good deal, too.

Eve in her bed at her new foster family home

How do you like my flash bed? I think it's an old fireplace that doesn't get used. It's very cosy and warm, and it's my own space in the house, so I'm settling in really well.

Thanks again to everyone for your emails and things. Everyone at the SPCA really appreciates all your kind comments about what a great job they do. And I KNOW they do, too. Where would we be without them?

I think it's close to dinner time - Yay! FOOD!!! - so I'll catchya next time!
