Thanks for all your wonderful donations and emails to Eve. She is a star and yet she remains down-to-earth and completely unaffected by her rise to stardom :)
Just chillin'
Eve continues in her recuperation. She's now achieved a body weight of 19kg, which is absolutely fantastic.
As you can see from the photos, she's getting better each day and filling out very well. Her cheeky personality is becoming more and more apparent, too. She loves life and is very friendly with most people. Her best friend at the moment is Chester, who she's having a friendly scrap with in these photos.

Chester gives Eve a friendly chew...
Because we're at capacity with animals, Eve spent a day in the Canine Attendants office and they were given a reminder that they need tidy their office a little better when Eve got a little bored and decided that the stash of soft toys (she LOVES soft toys!) was hers and she proceeded to tear them to bits and fling them all around the office!
Needless to say, our Canine Attendants are now more careful ensuring things get put away properly...

Eve's the one with the collar...
She's been forgiven for that little transgression and has started some basic training, too. She'll quickly sit for treats, she knows her name, she walks reasonably well on a leash and gets better all the time...
A lot of people have generously donated to help pay for Eve's treatment, care, and towards a Prosecution Fund. On behalf of Eve and the animals like her, we at the Auckland SPCA thank you very much.
If you wish to donate to the Auckland SPCA, you can go directly to our donations page here, or you may wish to sign-up to our HOPE Programme - more information here.
You may not realise it, but the Auckland SPCA receives no automatic government funding and relies on the generousity of the Auckland public to enable us to rescue and care for our charges plus fund the prosecution of offenders.

I love you Eve....GOD bless you sweetie. Stay strong, the world loves you. The horrible monster that did this to you should suffer the same way.
Only just found this story and an appauled and disgusted!
Cannot believe an animal could suffer so much at the hands of man. But I guess in this day, nothing surprises me at all.
I just hope the people who did this are punished. To often I read of this abuse, and the people responsible are not dealt with in the manner they should. They are let off to leinient. Fines should be much tougher and prison is a good place for those whom do such acts. If this happened to a human....there would be an outcry!
Just sickens me.
I hope so much that you continue to grow healthy and strong and I know you will have much love and continued happiness. KIA KAHA EVE......hugs Julesxxx
