A promise kept

Well, the nice people here at the SPCA have just told me some really great news! They said that they were now my 'official owner'. I thought they were already, but apparently they had to wait for something called a 'court' to decide and it sounds like this 'court' has now made up its mind and said I don't belong in that horrible place I used to live and I was now the responsibility of the Auckland SPCA.

The SPCA is determined that Eve - pictured with Canine Team Leader Max Burndred - will have a full and happy life. Photo Glenn Jeffrey. Click for the full story on the NZ Herald website...I don't know why I was left for so long under that house with no food or water - I thought it must have been something I did but my friend Inspector Todd, who rescued me, told me that I hadn't done anything wrong at all. It was just that they just didn't care about me as much as my friends here.

The good news is that I'm going to be adopted into my new, permanent home, as soon as my SPCA friends can find just the right family for me. It's a very exciting time!

Uncle Bob [Bob Kerridge, Auckland SPCA CEO] said, "The SPCA will be very careful in its selection of a new home for Eve to ensure a full and happy life is ahead of her.", and that sounds just great to me.

I love being here and seeing all my friends every day... Todd, Taryn, Max, Gareth, Barbara, Carl, Dominique, Kirk, Rachelle and everyone else who stops by to say 'hi' or takes me for a walk... but I must say that I'm looking forward to meeting my new family!

Gotta go. It's almost lunchtime... life is SOOOOOOOOOO good!!!
